Foundation Notes

Darevi began as a private documentation project in 2021 — a structured record of daily wellness practices observed across Jakarta's urban professional community. What follows is the account of how that record became a journal.

A Private Record That Became Public

The Darevi project grew from a straightforward observation: Jakarta's working professional community lacked a well-structured, plainly written reference for men's daily wellness practices. Most available content was either commercially motivated or anchored in language that spoke to acute concerns rather than sustainable, everyday habits.

The founding team — a small group of Jakarta-based writers, nutrition researchers, and movement practitioners — began compiling weekly documentation of their own routines. They catalogued morning protocols, assessed nutrition structures against published peer-reviewed sources, and cross-referenced fitness approaches with observable outcomes over twelve-week windows.

By mid-2022, that private documentation was formally organised into the Darevi editorial framework. The name itself reflects the concept of a well-worn daily record — something returned to consistently, not consulted occasionally. The journal launched its public archive in early 2023.

How Darevi Approaches
Its Documentation

Three governing principles underpin every article, protocol, and sourcing note published under the Darevi editorial framework.

Evidence-Informed Only

Every claim within Darevi's editorial output is cross-referenced against published nutritional and lifestyle research. Sources are cited by field of origin — not by brand affiliation or commercial sponsorship. Where evidence is limited or contested, the editorial team says so plainly.

Contributor Transparency

Each published piece carries a contributor attribution and a brief methodology note — describing the observation period, data source, and any acknowledged limitations. This is standard practice within the Darevi contributor network, regardless of article length or subject category.

Consistent Revision Cycle

Darevi operates on a rolling 90-day review cycle for all published content. Articles are revisited against updated research, contributor feedback, and observed practice shifts within the Jakarta professional community. Version numbers and revision dates are visible on each piece.

Practitioners Who Document Their Own Practice

Darevi's contributor network consists of practitioners who write about what they actively do — not what they theorise. The network includes qualified nutrition professionals, movement coaches, strength practitioners, and independent writers with documented backgrounds in sports science and public health.

Contributors are required to submit a background profile before their first published piece. The editorial team reviews each profile against Darevi's sourcing standards, and all published work undergoes peer review by at least one other network member before publication.

"The discipline of writing about a practice you actively maintain is different from writing about one you've read about. Darevi exists to capture the former."

About the Journal

Darevi is an independent editorial journal. It carries no commercial affiliation with any supplement manufacturer, personal care brand, or wellness service provider. Content is not sponsored, and editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial consideration. Where an ingredient or product is referenced, it is done in the context of documented research, not promotional placement.

All contributors are vetted practitioners — qualified nutrition professionals, movement specialists, and independent researchers with documented backgrounds. Each contributor profile is reviewed by the Darevi editorial team before publication access is granted. Contributor attributions appear on every published piece along with a brief methodology note.

Darevi is a documentation and editorial resource, not a personalised advisory service. Content describes general wellness practices and documents contributor-observed outcomes. We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any supplement to your daily routine, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements.

Contributor enquiries can be submitted via the contact form on the Contact page. Include a brief background profile and a description of the topic area you intend to document. The editorial team responds to all contributor enquiries within five business days. Initial pieces undergo a standard editorial review before publication.
